Gifted Hands is a nonprofit organization that provides outreach to New York City’s underserved communities through art programs. These programs give participants the opportunity to create something beautiful with their own “gifted hands” through a variety of mediums including stained glass, woodworking, jewelry design, scrapbooking, and more.

Changing Lives
More Than Just Art
Gifted Hands’ participants leave the program with much more than just a lovely piece of handcrafted artwork; they leave with new friendships, new skills, and perhaps most importantly, renewed self-esteem. Gifted Hands helps to provide hope and healing to people experiencing many of life’s most difficult circumstances.
Our Mission
To provide underserved youth and adults in New York City with educational art programs that build self-esteem and teach new skills.
Who We Are
Our Vision
For communities across our nation to start a Gifted Hands organization of their own. Where volunteers with a heart and passion for the arts come together to teach and mentor the marginalized individuals of their community.
Our History
For nearly 15 years, Gifted Hands has been reaching out to “the least and the last” in the city, helping them to build confidence and see value in themselves through discovering they have the power to create. Through a love of the arts and a heart for teaching, founder Dustee Hullinger brings educational art and mentoring programs to organizations that serve New York City’s struggling populations.
