Bill Sattan Builds Confidence at Woodstock Senior Center
Like spring, Gifted Hands’ volunteers bloom our optimism and ready our innovation.
Such is our experience with Bill Sattan, volunteer for Gifted Hands for over ten years!
Bill’s success with interior, lighting, display, stage, party and event design are accomplishments we would all be proud to list on our résumés. His clients include Price Waterhouse / Coopers, Macy's, Madonna, Sean Penn, Katherine Hepburn, William Safire and Diana Ross. He also served on the committee to "Save Grand Central Station" with Jackie Kennedy Onassis and David Rockefeller and was a professor and head of the Interior Design Deptartment at New York University during the 70's. His talents are many, and include writing and film – he penned a design book and has a movie cataloged in the US Library of Congress.
But what Bill does three Saturday afternoons a month is just as impressive. Although you might not recognize the names of the people he serves, their smiles and accomplishments are a familiar reward to his altruistic spirit!
As director of the Gifted Hands’ Senior Crafts & Activities program at the Woodstock Senior Center , Bill is the conduit that reminds seniors that age is beauty, art is timeless, and learning divine. With Bill’s encouragement, golden-agers find meaning in this artistic program comprised of 20 different lessons a year. As Bill says, “With every project seniors climb the ladder of self-esteem one more step.” And we can be sure Bill is there cheering them on!
Thanks Bill for your continued service to Gifted Hands and our constituents!
