I am not an artist or musician. Are there other ways I can volunteer at Gifted Hands?
You do not need to be a skilled artist or musician to help. You only need the ability to love and interact with people where you find them – often hurting, frequently lonely, always in need of a friend.

I  work Monday through Friday. Can I volunteer after work or on weekends?
Absolutely! There are many opportunities to volunteer with GH outside of normal business hours and even from the comfort of your own home!

I live outside of New York City but would still like to help.  Are their opportunities available?
Yes! Gifted Hands is actively looking for people who would like to become a “virtual volunteer” and complete tasks from their own home/computer, such as managing the website content, e-newsletters, and other projects.

I will be in New York City for a short amount of time. Can I still volunteer at Gifted Hands?
Yes! Throughout the year, Gifted Hands offers opportunities for individual and group volunteers to support our programs and events during their visits to New York City and surrounding communities.

How do I apply to volunteer?
For the protection of the people and organizations we serve, all volunteers will be asked to fill out an application and go through a screening process which may include a background check. An initial phone interview and training for all those interested in volunteering helps guide our volunteers through the organization and match them with the best volunteer opportunity.  If you're ready to take the next step, please fill out our online volunteer application.
